It measures in at 10.2 by 6.9 by 0.43 inches and weighs 1.47 pounds, making it larger than Apple's third-generation iPad but of near equal weight.
The Iconia Tab A700's 10.1-inch 1,920-by-1,200-pixel display makes it one of the first Android devices to support full HD visuals.
Other specs include Google's Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, Bluetooth, USB, HDMI, and microSD support, as well as a 5-megapixel rear-mounted camera and a 1-megapixel front-facing snapper.
The device has been touted as a competitor to Asus's tablet line, and an Android-based alternative to the latest iPad.
Acer's Iconia Tab A700 goes on pre-sale in the US on June 13, priced at $449.99.

let's be honest, Apple make the most beautiful kit in existence, but sometimes you need to look beyond the beauty to find kit that is just as good or even better than beautiful Apple

You would buy this if not a sheep and want freedom from the apple dictatorship. Ie better hd, hdmi port, USB access, sd card. Play any format I want. Go to any website I want. Not be told how to do things etc and actually do them better

Lol why would you pay that much for an Acer when you could have an actual iPad for pretty much the same money?!

Larger screen, expandable memory, things like that. A comparable iPad will be more expensive and I believe you're stuck with whatever onboard storage you paid for initially. I agree anything that isn't Apple really needs to be dramatically cheaper to compensate for the lack of 'prestige' and all the Android quirks, but when a few online stores start price wars with each other, this gadget may turn out to be pretty good value for money.

How odd; I had the pleasure of playing about with this at a training course for work. I'm not Acer's biggest fan, but it was pretty cool.
