Details of the internet giant's finances were revealed by a judge during its legal dispute with Oracle, according to Reuters.
The technology company is accusing Google of violating its java patents. During the ongoing court battle, it was revealed that Android made a loss in every quarter that year despite generating $97.7 million (£60.5m) in revenue.
"That adds up to a big loss for the whole year," said District Judge William Alsup.
Google is notoriously secretive when it comes to Android financial information. The company launched the operating system in 2007, and released the first phone powered by it the following year.
Oracle's court dispute with Google is expected to last up to eight weeks.

$97 million? That's pennies to Google! Plus in 2010 they we're still getting Android off the ground, it only took off for real last year, plus you can loose $100 million on android but make profit on googles advertising and products that come with Android.
