Half-naked Dawn, David's rage and E'dale romp
Published Jun 28 2009, 00:02 BST | By Kris Green
Poor Garry. He never has much luck in the love department, does he?His ex-wife Lynne Slater (Elaine Lordan) had an affair with Beppe di Marco (Michael Greco) which came out in the wash on his wedding day, before she went on to have another brief fling with her ex-fiancé Jason James. Garry then joined in with the promiscuity by having some fun with Laura Beale (Hannah Waterman).
Laura fell pregnant with what she believed to be Garry's baby, but it soon transpired that Bobby wasn't Garry's - Ian was the daddy. Lynne wasn't prepared to forgive Garry so easily, so he evened up the score by having it off with his wife's sister Belinda Peacock (Leanne Lakey). Lynne soon forgave him and fell pregnant herself. A tragic accident, however, resulted in their baby dying and Lynne surviving. Unable to forgive Garry, Lynne fled Walford.
Since Lynne's departure, Garry's been floating around Walford with his best mate Minty (Cliff Parisi) like a pair of lost sheep. However, Garry soon managed to woo Dawn (Kara Tointon) and it seemed like they were going to live happily ever after... Until Dawn decided to chat on him with his good friend and boss Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden).
Yep, Minty's stunned next week when he walks into the Arches to see evidence that Phil's romping with Dawn in the Arches. Caught in an difficult situation, Minty's torn as to whether to tell Garry about Dawn's infidelity. Next fortnight, though, it looks like Garry's going to stumble upon the truth himself when he nearly walks in on Phil and Dawn after a quick session on the sofa in The Vic's living room.
As you can see from my pic below, Dawn's left in a slightly tricky situation as she hides half-naked behind a door. When you see the episode, you'll notice that Garry seems to lack any peripheral vision.

Meanwhile, over on Coronation Street, David Platt's (Jack P. Shepherd) back causing trouble for his brother-in-law Jason Grimshaw (Ryan Thomas) on the scaffolding at the builders' yard. David was last seen loosening the scaffolding bolts in October 2007, which resulted in Jason plummeting to the floor below.
At the beginning of next month - over a year-and-a-half since his last trip up there - David climbs to the top of the builders' yard and decides to start pelting various objects - such as bricks and mallets - at Jason who cowers behind his van.
Just so we're clear, even though we know David has quite a few screws loose, he doesn't attempt to knock Jason out for the sake of it. He's furious about his ex-lover Tina (Michelle Keegan) embarking on a relationship with his sister's husband.
He's acting as any scorned lover would, right?

It gets a little steamy in Yorkshire's quaint little village of Emmerdale in a fortnight's time when David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) and Leyla Harding (Rokhsaneh Ghawam-Shahidi) pop to the factory to spend some quality time together.
Little do they know, though, that the Dingles have been hired by Val (Charlie Hardwick) to steal the factory equipment in the hope of an insurance payout. Luckily, the amourous couple decide to take their passion elsewhere.

The David plot could take an interesting turn from here if the scriptwriters do it right; they need to focus on his mental state - they did before but just seemed to get lazy and go down the "bad" route. Now he's lost Tina this is a good opportunity to work on that agin. He used to be a very interesting, dimensional character.

Getting fed-up now with the constant loop of David Platt having hissy fits over everything and anything. When are Corrie going to give us something different for him.

I've had it up to here with David. he shouldn't be allowed to get away with the things he does. If he climbs up on the roof of the builder's yard I hope that someone else is up there so they can push him off.
