'Coronation Street' Leanne actress calls for Toyah return

Coronation Street's Jane Danson has outlined her desire for Georgia Taylor to return to the soap.Speaking to Digital Spy, the Leanne Barlow actress tipped her on-screen step-sister Taylor to reprise her role as Toyah Battersby.

When asked whether she hopes Taylor will return to Weatherfield, Danson said: "Always! We're such great friends and always have been.
"As an actor, I'm sure she's keen to explore other things. But if the opportunity came up and it was the right time, I'd be really hopeful that she would say yes.
"Hopefully one day - I'd just like Leanne to have somebody around who would be really on her side 100% of the time! From my point of view, it would be fantastic."
Georgia Taylor left her Casualty role of Ruth Winters last year and is currently trying to find work.
The 32-year-old has previously declared her interest in "reinventing" Toyah, who made her last Weatherfield appearance in 2003.

Yeah i hope thye bring her back! she was good! they could do anything with the character now if she has been gone for 9 years then she could have a kid... even bring her back with spider nugent (emily bishops nephew)

why do old characters have to be constantly dragged back? The cast is already too big as it is with certain characters disappeared - where are Sally, Kevin, Ches and Katie?

I often go back to places where I used to live because of family or friends still living in the area. Why should soap characters be any different? It gives it a bit of realism.

Why do people assume she would be reinvented into a nice person? Just cause Leanne's said shes visited her doesn't mean she has--Leanne could've been anywhere and reality is Toyah for the past few years has been in jail or homeless/prostitution/human trafficking

Georgia Taylor is far too good for Coronation Street and shouldn't go back.

Agreed 100%. When Georgia was in Corrie she outshone all the other so-called actors in the programme, especially during the rape story line.
