'Coronation Street' Simon plot takes 7.9m in Monday ratings

Coronation Street stayed close to the 8m mark with its hour-long episode on Monday evening (June 11), overnight figures show.

The ITV1 drama pulled in 7.9m (31.5%) from 8pm as Simon's rebellious behaviour spiralled out of control. 334k (1.4%) caught up an hour later on ITV1+1.

Hollyoaks, meanwhile, managed 582k (2.4%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and 119k (0.5%) on timeshift, dented by high-rating Euro 2012 coverage on ITV1. Later, E4's first look interested 454k (2.1%) at 7pm and 114k (0.5%) on +1.

Over on Channel 5, Neighbours grabbed 604k (7.9%) at 1.45pm and 805k (3.9%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away secured 629k (2.6%) at 6pm and 340k (1.4%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors - titled 'Knock Knock' - was seen by 1.41m (18.7%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
