'Coronation Street' Simon plot takes 7.9m in Monday ratings

Coronation Street stayed close to the 8m mark with its hour-long episode on Monday evening (June 11), overnight figures show.The ITV1 drama pulled in 7.9m (31.5%) from 8pm as Simon's rebellious behaviour spiralled out of control. 334k (1.4%) caught up an hour later on ITV1+1.

Hollyoaks, meanwhile, managed 582k (2.4%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and 119k (0.5%) on timeshift, dented by high-rating Euro 2012 coverage on ITV1. Later, E4's first look interested 454k (2.1%) at 7pm and 114k (0.5%) on +1.
Over on Channel 5, Neighbours grabbed 604k (7.9%) at 1.45pm and 805k (3.9%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away secured 629k (2.6%) at 6pm and 340k (1.4%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors - titled 'Knock Knock' - was seen by 1.41m (18.7%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.

All episodes should be 1 hour instead of half an hour. Better that way. The only bad thing about last night's episode was Peter constantly shouting and blaming everyone for Simon getting drunk. That was a bit repetitive.

brilliant episode last night:/) corrie is the best soap and ALWAYS WILL BE!!! :-) and there was LOADS on last night! footy, films! Corrie is THE BEST!

Great acting from Alexandra Bain. And storylines in soaps dont last years at all! and to the idiot that said there was nothing else to watch.. there was FOOTBALL on, on BBC ONE and a film on on BBC Three at 8pm! Football 19pm-20pm got 2.6m! corrie! fantastic episode! ignore the rude comments below! best corrie episode i've watched for a while and i love the peter & carla storyline!! keep it up alexandra bain!! brilliant!

people go crazy when a story is to shart u get them saying god in real life that would take a few months to a years or more if its long in there view its like god in real life it would be sorted ages ago there are so many sides to this story thats why its running long its not just a custody battle the booze is a issue and there alot of emotions from four people plus other family members then there was the rape story around the start is over soon as carla and peter are leaving for a few months
