Coronation Street star Michelle Keegan has said that her character Tina McIntyre will be opposed to Terry Duckworth's shock arson plan.As reported earlier this week, Terry (Nigel Pivaro) considers setting his unfinished bar premises on fire in an insurance scam next month as loan sharks put pressure on him to repay his debts.

To Tina's horror, one of the sharks is Rick Neelan, the man who hounded her father Joe to his death. The barmaid's worry later intensifies when Terry tries to recruit her and Tommy (Chris Fountain) into his reckless plot to fix the situation.
Speaking of the plot for the first time, Keegan told All About Soap: "Tina's a sensible girl, but she knows they have to pay Rick back otherwise they'll never get shot of him. However, she's adamant doing something like burning the club down isn't a good idea, because Tommy could risk going to prison and she doesn't want that.
"He's the only person she's got left in her life who she really loves. She has Rita, but no other family or anything, so Tina's desperate to protect Tommy as well as herself.
"She feels like she's a stronger person because of everything she's been through. She needs to look after Tommy like she looked after her dad - before it's too late."
Coronation Street launches the big week for Tina, Tommy and Terry on Monday, May 7 on ITV1.

Katie, it was Paul Clayton (Terry's other son) who collaborated with Leanne to burn down her restaurant to claim on the insurance.

Every plot has been done by every soap more than once - often in the same soap. Perhaps it would be better if they all went back to 2 episodes a week each like they started out.
