Michelle Collins to get new 'Coronation Street' contract

Michelle Collins is to be offered a new Coronation Street contract next month.The former EastEnders actress, who plays Rovers Return manager Stella Price on the ITV1 soap, is said to have impressed producers with her stint on the cobbles and her character will be involved in a key storyline in the New Year.

Her on-screen family - partner Karl Munro (John Michie) and daughter Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley) - are also said to be staying on the show, with an insider telling The Mirror that the actors are to be rewarded with new deals as "the viewers took to them".
"I am enjoying myself much more these days," Collins is quoted as saying. "It was a tough role to step into - like going into the royal family!"
A Coronation Street spokesperson confirmed the news, adding: "Everyone is really pleased."
Collins first appeared in Coronation Street in June and her on-screen debut attracted over eight million viewers.

That is great news that Michelle Collins is staying. Stella has become my fav character so am more than pleased that she has been offered a new contract.

I cannot believe this character is staying, I actually really hate this character soo much, she just irritates me so much pity she couldn't leave and go back to Eastenders or something.

hahaha what a laugh she said on Loose Women yesterday she didn't know anything about this as she had just been on a 2 week break in NY.

On the other hand, there are more important things than you getting annoyed because other people are moaning. You could just take your own advice, rise above it and not read it. No because you enjoy being superior and don't like seeing people moan about her. Other people enjoy moaning about her because they don't like to hear the accent or whatever reason. Either way, it is bloody hypocritical of you.
