'Home and Away' Axle Whitehead: 'Liam, Indi plot is a joy'

Home and Away star Axle Whitehead has expressed his delight over his character Liam Murphy's new romance storyline with Indigo Walker.

Liam and Indi have been growing closer in recent episodes airing on the Seven Network in Australia. The storyline intensifies when Indi's estranged husband Romeo - who wants her back - discovers that Liam is his new love rival.



In real life, meanwhile, Whitehead recently confirmed that he is dating Samara Weaving, who plays the role of Indi.

Whitehead told The West Australian of Liam and Indi's spark: "They've both sort of been through failed marriages. Their friendship started above all when they were both working at Angelo's, and they made a pact together just to keep each other cheery.

"A nice, light friendship started from that and then I suppose a bit of chemistry sort of starts."

On his real-life romance, the actor continued: "Yeah, we're hanging out and there's just been rumours flying around and we're enjoying each other's company... taking it slow. It was such a joy to work with Sam. The two characters hadn't had much to do with each other before this."

Whitehead kept tight-lipped over where the Liam and Indi storyline is heading, with more Summer Bay twists and turns expected in the coming weeks.

He said: "It gets pretty juicy and convoluted and in the next month a few things go wrong, so we're just going to have to wait and see."
