The Channel 4 show has opened up applications for a number of storyline writers who will join the existing story department.
As the programme is recruiting at different levels, professional experience isn't essential - but applicants must have a passion for storytelling and a thorough knowledge of Hollyoaks.
Part of the application process includes pitching a story for Hollyoaks in no more than 300 words, as well as choosing characters and storylines you have either liked or disliked the most and explaining why.
The deadline for applications is Tuesday, May 8 so if you think you have what it takes, head over to the Lime Pictures website for all the details.

Hope they get better writing talent, hopefully whoever gets the job can think of more storylines than just sex sex sex sex

What an odd thing to say. Two of Hollyoaks' gay characters, Ste and Brendan, are amongst the most popular characters on the show, you only have to look at the Digital Spy forums to see that viewers love them. It's important for the show to reflect all aspects of society, same sex relationships included. Hollyoaks has a lot of gay viewers who want to see relatable characters on screen.
Hollyoaks' depiction of same sex relationships has nothing to do with their lack of awards. EastEnders and Coronation Street both have gay characters too.
