'Emmerdale' Marlon, Laurel suit each other, says Mark Charnock

Emmerdale's Mark Charnock has outlined his belief that Marlon and Laurel could stay together for a long time.Speaking to Inside Soap, the actor explained that he believes the new couple have a "quirky" rapport.

"I think they're really well matched," he said. "They're both quirky, romantic in an off-kilter way. They're both quite funny. I just think it's a meeting of minds really.
"They both really get each other and are people who a lot of the other villagers don't get."
Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) left vicar husband Ashley when it was exposed that he was abusing his father Sandy.
Meanwhile, Marlon lives to regret his forthcoming decision to stay with Laurel instead of joining his son in New Zealand.
Charnock added: "Marlon decides to stay with Laurel and says, 'I'll just make it work', which is a lie. His son's everything to him and there's inevitably going to be a moment when he says, 'Actually, why am I being made to choose?'"

At last! Hopefully they'll both be lucky in love.
This story has mostly been handled well. The Ashley-Sandy abuse storyline was there to show that anyone can be a victim or a perpetrator of abuse and I think it was handled very well at the time. Having Ashley falling on hard times (all his own fault as he made the choices that led to his predicament) and trying to gain viewer sympathy is wrong however and detracts from the seriousness of the storyline that led up to this i.e. elder abuse.
Hopefully Laurel and Marlon can make a go of it! They deserve a bit of good luck.

I'm 1of the few that's looking forward to the laurel and marlon paring.
Ashley and laurel had deffo ran there corse and I was getting so bord of them as a couple
I don't think emmerdale Has any gay's in it???? Could be wrong but if they are looking to reinvent Ashley then him and bob could be the new!! HOT Couple in the dales??? (:
