The singer, who triumphed in the show's tenth season, attended the ceremony at Garner Magnet High School on Thursday.
He collected his diploma along with around 400 other students who had been to the school in Raleigh, NC.
McCreery, who picked up a CMT Award for 'Breakthrough Video of the Year' earlier this week, joked on Twitter that it had been "a fun 24 hours".
He also praised his high school experience on the social network, saying: "I've enjoyed these last four years... wouldn't trade any of them for the world. #iamatrojan"
Meanwhile, McCreery told People that the last year had gone "so fast", adding that he was "glad" he could work on his music career while also finishing school.
"It was important to me and my family," he said. "Graduation is a big milestone, and it's going to be a little bittersweet."
Earlier this year, McCreery revealed that he is planning to attend college in the fall.
