'Jersey Shore' star Ronnie Ortiz accused of battery

Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, star of MTV's Jersey Shore, could face legal trouble after an alleged recent brawl in New Jersey.

A man named Justin Vigerito has stepped forward with battery claims against Ortiz-Magro.

According to Vigerito, his friend Devon tried to join the reality star and his Jersey Shore entourage at the Bamboo Bar in Seaside Heights, only to be shoved away, prompting a huge fight.

Vigerito claims that when he tried to stop the fight, Ortiz-Magro proceeded to punch him in the face several times.

TMZ reports that the man has now filed a criminal report against Ortiz-Magro, who is currently being investigated by Seaside Heights police.

This could complicate the 26-year-old's current 18-month pretrial intervention programme, which he enrolled in last year due to a violent incident in 2009.

Under the statutes of the court programme, Ortiz-Magro can avoid assault charges from the 2009 incident if he remains on good behaviour.

There is no word yet on how Vigerito's criminal report will affect Ortiz-Magro's legal situation.

Deena Cortese, another Jersey Shore star, also recently fell into legal trouble when she was arrested for drunk and disorderly conduct earlier this month.
