Coronation Street star Kym Marsh has insisted that she is feeling relaxed about her upcoming wedding.

The actress, who plays Weatherfield's Michelle Connor, will marry former Hollyoaks cast member Jamie Lomas at the Nunsmere Hall Hotel in Cheshire next month.

Speaking on Lorraine this morning (August 3), Marsh insisted that she isn't worrying about the big day ahead.

She commented: "I've been so laid-back. And actually, Jamie's sisters - who I'm very close to - have both been going, 'Kym, you do know we've not got long?!' I've got some help as well - organising it with my friends helping me."

Marsh enjoyed her hen celebrations in Marbella last weekend, with family and friends in attendance.

Reflecting on the gathering, the 36-year-old said: "We had so many people from Corrie, and some of my old friends from years ago. My mum came, and Jamie's mum. We had such fun. I never really did girlie holidays, because I had my kids so young. I had David and Emily - by the time I was 21, I had both of them."

On screen in Coronation Street, meanwhile, Michelle's son Ryan (Sol Heras) is pretending to be back on the straight and narrow after she caught him taking cocaine.

Discussing the storyline, Marsh explained: "Because there's only ever been Ryan and Michelle, they've always been very, very close. So I think she's really disappointed that suddenly she feels that there's a huge wedge between them, and she can't quite work out why. So all this stuff he's telling her, she's desperate to believe everything that comes from his mouth.

"There's a bit to come, I think. It's not quite over!"

Coronation Street continues tonight (August 3) at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV1.
