Mark Wright has reportedly made plans to purchase land in the Essex countryside in order to become a "Lord of the manor type".

The former Only Way Is Essex star apparently told friends that he wants to find a luxury home in Sewardstone, part of the county's Epping Forest district.

Sources say that Wright is hoping the move will make people "take him more seriously" and allow him to build up a successful property portfolio.

"Mark has always fancied himself as a bit of a Lord of the manor type and has dreamed for years of having a huge stately home with a load of expensive cars in the driveway," an insider told The Mirror.

"You can tell by the way he dresses that he likes the country gent look... I mean, how many 25-year-olds wear a blazer and a cravat?

"He was a big name because of TOWIE, but I'm a Celebrity raised his profile to a completely new level and he has made a lot of money as a result. He wants to invest that in something solid and feels property is the way to go."

Wright is also believed to be releasing a dating book and is allegedly hoping to launch an acting career in the US.
