It had been claimed at the beginning of the series that Amanda Holden had felt "frozen out" by show producers in favour of Dixon.

However, Dixon later denied the rumours, stating that they were actually close friends.

Holden has now said that she has a "genuine friendship" with her fellow judge, while Dixon added: "I love Amanda."

A source from the show added: "They gave Pudsey and Ashleigh a run for their money in the closeness stakes."

Simon Cowell praised the pair along with David Walliams for making the final the "best" he had ever been involved with.

He went on to publicly invite all three judges to join him for next year's series after the successful final.
