Amanda Holden has insisted that she would never sleep with Simon Cowell.

The Britain's Got Talent judge, who has worked for Cowell on the reality show since 2007, is quoted in The Sun as saying that she would not want to destroy their friendship.

Referring to the X Factor boss's well-publicised love life, she said: "I'd never be another notch on his bedpost. I'd very much rather be his friend because friendship lasts longer.

"We get each other. We always have a laugh together. I make him laugh and he makes me laugh. That's why I'm still here."

The 41-year-old has been married to Chris Hughes since December 2008. She has two young daughters, Lexi and Hollie Rose.

Cowell, 52, has been the subject of much tabloid gossip recently as a result of Tom Bower publishing unauthorised biography Sweet Revenge: The Intimate Life Of Simon Cowell. The book's claims have included that he dated Dannii Minogue, cheated on ex-girlfriend Terri Seymour many times, and was "mesmerised" by Cheryl Cole.
