"This douchebag just called me trying to sell me a loan/double glazing/whatever," she wrote. "When I told him to get lost...he left an abusive message on my answerphone.
"SO....I ask all my divas to show him the same courtesy...#getyourownback."
Brucknell proceeded to retweet fan messages explaining what they had done to the caller and told one user that 'farting' down the phone was "encouraged".
She wrote later: "Omg Divas...your tweets make me laugh! We are an ARMY!!! ;-) keep em coming."
Brucknell, who finished seventh on last year's X Factor after struggling to find popularity with viewers, recently teased details of her new track 'Red Shoes'.

It's not part of their job to call back & leave abusive messages. The company in question are in the UK & known for unsolicited calls to TPS & withheld numbers. They are basically breaking the rules for what is allowed for cold calling. Basically what Kitty did is probably not the best but she was acting on impulse, these people do it relentlessly & call people indiscriminately. So yeah the abusive cold caller deserved any backlash.

I don't support what she's done really, but it is kind of epic.

Most cold callers are only doing their job. They probably hate doing it as much as people hate receiving their calls. If you have a particularly annoying one, fine, give them a piece of your mind or complain to their company, or Trading Standard etc. What you DON'T do is invite the bullying of a person by potentially thousands of people.
AT the very least, Kitty should be given a warning by Twitter. Personally I think she should be banned.
