"I know there is fascination with me because I'm camp, yet over the years I've been connected to some very beautiful women. I've married a supermodel yet there I am on Britain's Got Talent with Simon Cowell, camping it up," he told The Sun.
"I guess I'm just very honest about my sexuality. I had gay experiences as a child and remember being very confused about that. I think there will still be people who will want it out of me, until the day I die.
"But I'm glad I talked honestly about my childhood sexual awakening because I think there's plenty of other people out there who will be reading it and say, 'That's quite normal, that happened to me. It confused me too.'
"I've always been effeminate, and I think people confuse effeminacy with homosexuality, like they go hand-in-hand. But there are plenty of effeminate people who are straight, and plenty of butch people who are gay.
"I've always been camp, I've always been drawn to playing Wonder Woman in the school playground. I'm not worried about it, it just seems other people are."
Walliams recently revealed that he wants to play a gay male version of Miss Moneypenny in the next James Bond film.

A lot of people commenting on this have rather missed the point. He's not say he IS gay or even bi, he's saying that as a child he had gay experiences and that was something that confused him. It's perfectly clear that he's saying that he is now straight, ableit a rather camp straight man. All these people saying "I knew it" and "I'm not surprised" clearly haven't read the article properly

Agree its normally these people who are the straightest, just like Russell Brand i always thought he battered for the other side once.

I used to like him but can't abide him now. I don't like celebrities who pretend to be someone they are not. He knew his behaviour (acting camp / kissing guys) would cause people to talk. He has attained a rather nice lifestyle on the back of this (no pun intended). He makes me cringe. The times I've seen him on Alan Carr acting up to him make me wanna puke. I'm sure off camera he is not as 'camp' - I don't think his lady wife would find that attractive.

I met him once. Off-camera he is exactly like he is on-camera!

He's not gay, as the story states, he had experiences with men when he was younger and is now in a long-term heterosexual relationship. And as for the whole world, check the statistics on that one, you may just be able to have it off after all.

Sorry but unless im reading the article wrong he said in his childhood, so i would hope he didn't have experiences with men when he was younger. Other than that i totally agree with you.

Oh yes, because the whole article screams "David Walliams admits to being gay" doesn't it? Come on, he worked with Matt Lucas, who's openly gay, for how many years? Do you really think David would hide the fact if he was too?
