US President Barack Obama, Warner Bros and Dark Knight Rises cast member Gary Oldman among others have paid their respect to the dead and injured.
Officers are now preparing to enter Holmes's Aurora apartment, which is booby-trapped with explosives.

It really is irrelevant as to why a 6 year old was at the cinema. Theres been a mass shooting, its not important as to whether she should have gone to the movies or not. Yeah she should have probably been in bed, no doubt a gutting thought for her family now, but shes been killed in a mass shooting so I dont thin k debating why she was ther eor why she shouldnt have been there is really necessary now

no you really dont think so, so if we end up from such a debate having time restrictions put on ages and there is god forbid another such incident next year or in the future and NO children are gunned down is it then pointless i dont think so. If the concern had been raise by staff that it was maybe to late for ones so young to be there such young innocent children wouldnt have been subjected to such a thing. I think the people saying ohh its irrelevant are very blinkered because its raising issue's like this that prevent horrific incidents in the future .

attempt 2 at posting last one disappeared :/..............I think people should be concerned that children were out at such a time because it shows a lack of parenting skills. Night time is the time when all the worlds worst like to come out to play not to mention the movie is pg 13. There is no excuse for those children being in that cinema. if the parents cant get sitters do what the rest of us do DONT GO OUT!!! dont drag your poor child with you risking exposing them to nightlife and unnecessary dangers and anyone who would like to argue with that dont bother i think the events speak for them selves. I believe the movie theater have as much responsibility in this if there was an admission cut off for pg 13 for children actually under 12 at say 9pm that little girl would still be alive (or maybe they never thought parents would be so stupid) and then midnight for under 18s. If this had happened here in the uk the parents would now be up on charges of negligence and too right when a movie is more important to you than your childs well being there is something seriously wrong!!

Who cares what the time was? I'm pretty sure American children are on their Summer holidays now anyway.
And it's irrelevant as hell, a 6 year old was GUNNED DOWN FFS. Just because she was at the cinema at midnight doesn't mean she deserved to die or that her parents got what they deserved.

Exactly!! It annoys me soo much that some people are more concerned about children being out at night rather than the fact that they were shot and killed.

Awful thing to have happened. I agree with you. Regardless of shooting or not though. COMPLETELY SEPERATE SITUATION: Children shouldn't have been in the cinema at that time. School holidays or not. If the reason is the parents can't get a sitter, then the parents don't go to the cinema or at least go at a normal time. But I am not saying they deserve this happening to them as that would be both ridiculous and heartless.

Of course it doesn't, and the whole thing is a terrible, heartbreaking tragedy. But there is no getting away from the fact that if that poor little girl had not been at the cinema, at midnight, watching a PG-13 film, she would be alive now. A thought that no doubt will have crossed her poor Mother's mind as she lays in hospital. How many of these awful, evil mass shootings will there be before gun laws are changed?

because if they hadnt of been out at such an inappropriate time they would still be alive!!! us parents who are responsible enough to not take children out at that time of night for our own selfish reason are concerned because children have died because parents these days seem to lack the common skills to bring up children and keep them safe x
