"Marriage is far more than a man and a woman, it's a bond for life," she told Gaydar Radio. "Whether you are gay or straight or whatever it makes no difference to being married.
"What marriage stands for is that you love that person. You want to commit yourself to that person forever... Why should the fact that you're attracted to the same-sex make that any different?
"It makes no sense to me. They're the same relationship, the same beliefs. It's crazy. I don't even understand why it's even a [big] deal."
Cole is also set to perform at London nightclub G-A-Y for the first time in almost 10 years on Saturday (June 16).

The Girls Aloud member recently spoke about her relationship with gay X Factor winner Joe McElderry, who she mentored in the ITV show's 2009 series.
"I think I knew [he was gay] before he did," she claimed. "He didn't tell me. I had a chat with my boys and I just told them they could tell us whatever they wanted and I was there for them."
Cole will release her third studio album A Million Lights on Monday, June 18.

She'd support marrying aliens from the deepest recesses of Uranus if it got her a bit of media attention.

What a sad cynical world we live in, but fair enough if you don't like her music but you can still agree with her viewpoint on this. I don't like Madonna but still like the fact she supported Gay Rights in Russia.

Supporting equal rights shouldn't be news.

whatever she does or says people will slam her to the floor over what the fact shes more succesful than a singer who has more vocal range so what i like her voice i like her music and i like her shes a great performer and great role model . she may have punched somebody years ago not the first and not the last but she took responsability for her actions she supports a huge amount of people with all the charities she works with and stands up for what she believes in is genuine and honest in interviews and always compliments other women and artists on there acheivements and often says she a normal girl living her dream i hope to god she never logs on these sights and reads the vile comments she gets from people whose excuses are allways unjustified nomatter how much they try to say otherwise and i also hope she gets told everyday what a great person she is and she should be proud of what shes achieved .
