Rula Lenska has strongly refuted ex-husband Dennis Waterman's claims that she asked for domestic violence. In an upcoming appearance on Piers Morgan's ITV talk show, Minder actor Waterman admits to "lashing out" at Lenska during their marriage.
The 64-year-old claims that Waterman threatened her with glass and knocked her unconscious with a telephone in an incident around 1994, midway through their 11-year marriage.

She told the Daily Mail: "It was late, and he'd done his usual turning-the-music-up number. He was very angry about something, and started grabbing photographs of my family off the wall and smashing them.
"The room was littered with glass and he was picking up bits and threatening me with them. I was deeply frightened.
"I ran to the phone to call a close friend for help but when I picked up the handset, he grabbed it out of my hand and whacked me across the head. I lost consciousness briefly."
Describing the aftermath of the ordeal, Lenska added: "He was weeping and crying, begging for forgiveness. We wept in each other's arms.
"I was ashamed. In these situations men have an uncanny way of making you feel like it's your fault."
Waterman's interview on Piers Morgan's Life Stories is expected to be screened next month on ITV1.

Domestic violence isn't gender based. 1 in 4 women experience domestic abuse which is significantly higher than the percentage of men that do. More cases of women being abused are reported and this why youbhear more of it, but men who are abused are taken just as seriously.

Damo Peter Welham As if you said women make themselves victims. Are you complete ****** or what. People are responsible for their own actions so if someone decides to react with violence that is their choice!!!!! If you are being wound up by someone wouldn't make more sense to walk away rather then assault the other person regardless of them being male or female?

sounds a nightmare. I'm a 100% on Rula's side. She must've been on edge every minute waiting for the next time. I wont hate on Dennis - he's got issues - but really he should've kept his issues & his hands to himself.
