Angelina Jolie: 'I didn't pay attention to Oscars leg talk'

Angelina Jolie has insisted that she doesn't care about the recent furore over her protruding leg at this year's Academy Awards.

The Tomb Raider star, who sparked a media frenzy when she consistently posed on the Oscars red carpet with one of her bare legs sticking out from the split in her black floor-length Atelier Versace gown, said that she was not bothered because she tends to ignore celebrity gossip.

Jolie told the Huffington Post: "I honestly didn't pay attention to it. You know what I mean? I don't watch those TV shows and if I go online and see something about myself, I don't click on it.

"The people I surround myself with don't really talk about that kind of stuff. I heard something, but I didn't pay any attention. It's as simple as a being a woman picking a dress you like and having a night, and not really thinking about anything else."

After the Academy Awards, a spoof Twitter account for Jolie's right leg was set up and attracted over 11,000 followers.

Various messages on the spoof page included: "Check out this leg over here," "Still here. Great view, but thank god for the slit in this dress," and, "You have to admit I'm one hell of a leg."
