Katherine Jenkins, Gethin Jones 'would give up fame for children'

Katherine Jenkins has said that she is planning to put her career on hiatus to start a family with Gethin Jones.

The opera star, who became engaged to Jones in February, said that she is hoping to spend time at home and "enjoy" the "gift" of motherhood.



"Growing up with my family gave me some of my best memories," she told the Daily Mail. "I'd like to have a family of my own - slip away for a bit and do nothing but spend those early years with my children.

"It's about wanting a family rather than wanting a career. I'd like to think I can come back, but I believe children are a gift and I want to enjoy them some time in the next few years. Gethin does too."

Jenkins added that she still struggles to deal with life in the spotlight.

"I love what I do but all of this fame wasn't something I anticipated," she said. "There are parts of it I find a lot harder to deal with."

Jenkins recently joined a cyber bullying campaign after being harassed by an "utterly pathetic" Twitter user.
