Brad Pitt has revealed that his life wasn't "interesting" when he was married to Jennifer Aniston.
The Moneyball star, who was married to Friends actress Aniston for five years before splitting in 2005, said that he is much more "satisfied" with his life with partner Angelina Jolie and their six children.
Pitt told Parade: "I put much more emphasis on being a satisfied man. I'm satisfied with making true choices and finding the woman I love, Angie, and building a family that I love so much. A family is a risky venture, because the greater the love, the greater the loss... that's the trade-off. But I'll take it all.
"I spent the '90s trying to hide out... I started to get sick of myself sitting on a couch, holding a joint. It started feeling pathetic. I was intent on trying to find a movie about an interesting life, but I wasn't living an interesting life myself. I think that my marriage [to Jennifer] had something to do with it. Trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn't."

Pitt describes choosing Jolie as the mother of his children as "one of the greatest, smartest things" he has ever done, adding: "She is such a great mum. I'm so happy to have her."
He also said that he and Jolie will "get married when everyone can" be there, insisted that they are "not splitting up" and confirmed that they "don't have a seventh child yet".
Jolie has always been rumoured to be behind Pitt and Aniston's split, but Aniston reportedly revealed earlier this year that she has "moved on" and has no hard feelings towards the pair.
Moneyball, which also stars Robin Wright and Philip Seymour Hoffman, is released in the US on September 23 and on November 25 in the UK.
