The Mr Popper's Penguins star posted a clip on his official website earlier this week in which he professed his love for Stone.
"Emma, I think you're all the way beautiful. Not just pretty, but smart and kind-hearted. And if I were a lot younger, I would marry you," Carey said, addressing the Help actress.
"We would have chubby little freckle-faced kids, we'd laugh all day long, go camping and play Yahtzee. Tell ghost stories by the fire."
Carrey has since responded to the overwhelming response that the video has received online, taking to his Twitter page to address the question of whether or not he was joking about his feelings for 22-year-old Stone.
"Yes, my msg to Emma Stone was a comedy routine and the funniest part is that everything i said is tru (sic)," Carrey wrote.
"People often ask me if i'm being funny or serious. The answer is "YES". ?;^]"
Carrey also revealed that the heavy traffic generated by the video caused his website to temporarily crash.
Stone has not yet responded to Carrey's message.

It's funny that people, including the media, think he's actually being serious in the message. Have they NEVER seen him perform before?

Dear Jim Carrey, If Emma Stone doesn't want you, I don't care how old you are, I'll marry you!
