The Glee star insisted that fame isn't "normal" so it can be difficult to keep grounded.
The 32-year-old has been working in the showbiz industry longer than some of his co-stars and explained that they have to learn from their own mistakes.
He told Cosmopolitan: "I think the only way to learn in this business is to go through things yourself, which a lot of the cast are obviously already doing.
"Fame is not a normal thing. I don't think people were ever meant to be worshipped."
Morrison explained that he is no longer interested in partying and prefers to stay at home with friends.
He added: "I went through a phase where I went out and had a lot of fun, and now I'm such a homebody. I like staying at home with friends and drinking wine.
"I feel really lucky to have lived out my 20s not in the public eye. I feel bad for some of the kids on the show sometimes because they're never going to have that."
Morrison is to release his own album and has previously discussed some of the duets on his debut LP.
