Beckhams praise "beautiful" royal wedding

David and Victoria Beckham have praised the royal wedding as "beautiful and heartfelt".

The pair were among many celebrities in attendance at London's Westminster Abbey where Prince William and Kate Middleton exchanged marriage vows earlier today.

In a joint official statement, the Beckhams expressed gratitude to have been invited to attend such a momentous gala.

"Today's ceremony was beautiful and heartfelt. Catherine looked wonderfully elegant and we were honoured to be part of such a special, historical day for our country," the Beckhams said. "We wish Catherine and William much love and happiness for the future."

Wearing a dress from her own AW11 collection and adorned with a navy pillbox hat, Victoria and her Ralph Lauren-clad husband David posed for photographs before entering Westminster Abbey this morning.

The pair will contribute to Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge's private charity in lieu of giving a gift.
