Jessica Simpson "so proud" of Ashlee

Jessica Simpson has admitted that she was proud to watch younger sister Ashlee Simpson-Wentz make her Broadway debut last night.

The Melrose Place actress has signed on to star as Roxie Hart in a production of Chicago at New York's Ambassador Theatre.

Speaking to OK, Simpson said: "I'm always so proud of my sister. I think she fricking nailed it!"

An insider added: "She kept turning to her mum and saying she had butterflies. It was very cute. She must have said it five times after she took her seat."

Simpson-Wentz first appeared as Roxie Hart in the West End in 2005.
