Anzac is just over five months old and was brought to the centre after being rescued in the Macedon Ranges.
He needed comforting as he missed his mother and so was placed in a pouch with Peggy where the two slept together.

Workers at the centre have said that the two animals get on so well together because they possess similar personality traits. They say that Anzac is very social and Peggy is boisterous and cheeky.
Expert Lisa Milligan explained the creatures who have an unlikely friendship are comforted by each other's movement and heartbeat, adding: "There are lots of baby animals about at the moment, and they are orphaned for a range of reasons."

Cute! But if I were the Joey....I'd not be asking the wombat for a back scratch!! And Peggy is such a cool name for a wombat!!

Little tip to recreat this is to place a well wrapped up hot water bottle and a alarm clock in a towel to reassure young animals that are ophaned.

What the hell are you on about? Yes, that is pretty common knowledge. But surely to 'recreate' this you would need a wombat and a kangaroo!?
