Russia's chief medical officer has reportedly blamed The Beatles for an increase in recent drug use in the country.Yevgeny Bryun suggested that the Fab Four's own use of hallucinogenic drugs and their trip to India in 1966 triggered the financial exploitation of hedonism, the Daily Mail reports.

"After The Beatles travelled to expand their consciousness in Indian ashrams, they brought the idea of changing one's psychic state to the people," Bryun said.
'When business then realised it was possible to make money from this - pleasure, and goods associated with pleasure - that was when the growth in the demand for drugs started."
He added: "Either we stop adolescents from taking drugs at an early age, or tell them that either prison awaits them, or death."
The Beatles famously used amphetamines during their early days playing in Hamburg and were given marijuana by Bob Dylan on August 28, 1964.

So does every other country-- there is no one country you can pin the blame on for the mess this world is in today, we have all played a part in it.
