Hedgehog gets head stuck in tin of carrots - picture

More than one of us has got our hand temporarily stuck in a tube of Pringles, but humans are a lucky species with our arms and opposable thumbs and the rest of it.The humble hedgehog has to lead in with its oh-so-cute face when it's feeling hungry, which can result in all sorts of bother.

This poor chap was found at the side of the road with its head stuck in an empty tin of carrots.
His rescuers actually thought he was dead at first, before cutting open the other side to let him breathe and calling the RSPCA.
The wee fella was taken to East Winch Wildlife Centre near King's Lynn, where he was eventually freed with only minor wounds.

RSPCA centre manager Alison Charles said: "Incidents like this can easily be prevented if people just picked up their rubbish rather than throwing it away, and remembered to squeeze cans together before throwing them away."

Whenever I see that plastic that's used to keep cans of beer together discarded anywhere, I pull it apart to prevent animals from getting stuck in that too.

Why is a trapped and suffering animal 'aw so cute'? Why is this billed as a cutesy story when the animal had to be set free by an animal welfare specialist and suffered wounding?
Do you people get all goo-ey tummied when you see pictures of wild hares bleeding to death in coursing traps as well?
Sickos.

Are you serious? Nowhere does it say the hedgehog was cute when it was trapped. It just says that hedgehogs are in general, cute. Your daily mail attitude is just laughable.

Seems like you've had your snout in a few tins too.

Natalie, what the hell are you on? You clearly didn't read the story properly, which would have been helpful!

Glad to see the little chap is okay

Awww bless him... Thank god he survived. People should be careful and make sure to sqaush cans. In my house we have this heavy stick that we use to squash hard cans

Poor little fella! How can they liken a human getting their hand stuck in a tube of Pringles to a hedgehog getting his head stuck in a can that a human carelessly dumped?
