For those not yet aware, next week sees the first 'Music is GREAT Week', which will include a series of yet-to-be-announced events over the course of seven days.
We're not sure why "great" has been capitalised, but given that music is indeed GREAT, we're happy that certain people in high places want to shout about it's GREATness.
Kicking off the festivities is a DVD - out next Monday (May 14) - of what have been labelled the 15 greatest live performances by British acts ever. It's a rather brilliant list which you can click through in the gallery below:

1. David Bowie / Ziggy Stardust Hammersmith Odeon, 1973
Girls Aloud: 'The Promise' (Live at London O2 Arena)
The dresses. The dance routine. The individual podiums.
Elton John: 'Rocket Man' (Live at Ephesus)
We're most surprised by the omission of Elton John. This performance of 'Rocket Man' - which includes an incredible piano solo - is just one of many of his best live showings.
Leona Lewis: 'Bleeding Love' (Live at San Remo)
Whether you're a fan of the The X Factor or not, it's hard to deny that Leona Lewis didn't nail this song time and again.

Take That's performance of The Garden from 2009 was simply magical. Fantastic harmonies, poignant song and plus - a big magical elephant that did a tour of the stadium.
