One Direction on course to pick up their second number one single, while Snow Patrol had stormed to the top of the albums chart.

Westlife slide from 20 to 26 with 'Lighthouse', and The Collective's Children in Need single 'Teardrop' enters at 35. On the album chart, JLS's Jukebox has stolen the lead from Snow Patrol's Fallen Empires.Michael Buble's Christmas is at three, and Drake's Take Care remains at four.Further down the chart, Pixie Lott's Young, Foolish, Happy is at 14, and Lady GaGa rises to 17 with Born This Way.Next week's single releases include Olly Murs's 'Dance With Me Tonight', Will Young's 'Come On' and Rebecca Ferguson's 'Nothing's Real But Love'.

Gaga beats the position of her last single, U + I by 3 places so far, Ideally Ms Ferguson would be number one (could happen) but apart from X Factor this weekend not much promotion but could be a long stayer on the charts...love her and feel she could be a global star like Leona, Adele and of course Amy...acts that I thought would have success in the UK only...Roll on Sunday 27th to find out eh? What is it about Rihanna and her upteen releases so soon charting? glad some acts keep u waiting for new music (Madonna, Kate Bush)...is she trying to be the only act in the world to occupy all top 40 positions with old n new singles? Loved her before but find she is too relentless in her out put but I suppose that is the 21st century female pop star now. Surprise to see Westlife so low down the chart but feel they have had their day, not been entering at number one for a while now...The Collective( Gary Barlow telling us who is hip and trendy)...entering low too but with CIN on tonight will get a boost. Its difficult to predict where Ms Bush will enter. Her last album, Directors Cur in May entered at No2 but maybe there wasn't the stiff competition then as now( x factor, Rihanna, Saturdays, One Direction, Westlife )....but it could surprise us too. Enough of my jibbering.
