Paloma Faith: 'Picking Up The Pieces' - Single review

"I'm more concerned about selling lots over a long period than whizzing to number one then dropping back out of the charts," Paloma Faith recently said of her new album Fall To Grace. After witnessing the global domination of fellow London-born songstress Adele over the past 18 months, we don't blame her for also wanting a slice of the action - but does lead single 'Picking Up The Pieces' live up to such weighty expectations?

"I watch you cry, but you don't see that I'm the one by your side," she belts bleakly over a glorious mix of soaring orchestral strings, battling against her relationship insecurities. She may not think she's able to obtain the prime ideal of perfection, but 'Picking Up The Pieces' skirts dangerously close - and for that alone, it's more than worthy of some global recognition.

some people just aren't ever going to be as successful as they think that they should be. paloma faith and marina and the diamonds are perfect examples.

Like this tune, heard it a few times now. Quite a bit different to some of her other stuff. Really like Paloma and she did a great performance on The Voice last night too.

Paloma is one of my personal favourites. I think she is underrated and love the tones in her voice. Glad she's back with an awesome track.
