Marcus Collins: 'Seven Nation Army' - Single review

In fact, they have gone one step further and handed the Liverpudlian a cover-of-a-cover-version of White Stripes' 'Seven Nation Army' (by Ben L'Oncle Soul to be precise) for his debut single. "I'm gonna fight them off/ A seven nation army couldn't hold me back," Collins sings over a sparkly brass section in his distinctive soul-pop tones that won him a sizeable following back in the autumn. Truth be told, we wish he'd fought a little harder to get one of those eight original compositions he has on his forthcoming record out first.

reminds me of something olly murs would sing.

Terrible. He should of grown a back bone and said no covers.

I’m going to find a song.
That someone covered way back.
I’m going to rip it off.
And knife Uncle Ben in the back.

Didn't like it to start with, but is slowly starting to grow on me. Will never beat the White Stripes version though!

I agree, even though she's less marketable than Little Mix, Marcus, Amelia and Misha, she deserves to be competing wih the other 4 for chart sucess. She is the most liked X factor 2011 act on Facebook, with 290,000, 50,000 more than Little Mix, almost twice as many as Marcus, 2.5 times as many as Amelia, and 5 times as many as Misha.
