Iggy Pop, Best Coast to collaborate for 'True Blood' track

Iggy Pop has teamed up with Best Coast's Bethany Cosentino for the True Blood soundtrack.

The pair have collaborated for a new song to be featured on the HBO vampire drama next month.

'Let's Boot and Rally' will air on the show on its July 8 episode in the US, reports Pitchfork.

It will also receive its radio debut a few days before on Thursday, July 5.

Speaking about the track, Iggy Pop said: "I've always liked to bite. I guess this makes me a singing vampire, does this mean I have a license to suck? Hi Bethany..."

Last year, Nick Cave collaborated with Neko Case for a cover of 'She's Not There' by The Zombies for True Blood.

Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins recently signed up to star as Iggy Pop in the upcoming CBGB movie project.

True Blood will air the fourth episode of its current season on Sunday, July 1 on HBO.
