Scissor Sisters have announced an indefinite hiatus from music. The 'Fire with Fire' group confirmed at their gig at Camden's Roundhouse in London last night (October 24) that they currently have no plans to work together again.

The band played a second of two nights at the venue, putting on an extended gig to thank their fans, before making the announcement towards the end of the show.
Jake Shears told the crowd: "This will be the last time we will play in London for quite some time."
Ana Matronic thanked their fans, stating that the UK audience were "the ones who got us first - and always get us best".
The New York group played a selection of their biggest hits at the gig, including 'Laura', 'Mary' and 'Kiss You Off', before closing the show with 'Filthy/Gorgeous'.

They also performed the singles 'Fire with Fire', 'Invisible Light', 'Only the Horses', 'Shady Love', 'I Don't Feel Like Dancing', 'Take Your Mama' and 'Comfortably Numb'.
After the performance, the band confirmed to Gigwise that they currently have no plans to return to the studio, with guitarist Del Marquis revealing that he is currently working on solo material.
However, Ana Matronic also reassured fans that this was not necessarily the end of Scissor Sisters altogether, saying: "Don't you worry - this isn't the last you've heard of us."

I didn't realise they were still going?

At least they realise they need a break after shifting not very many albums lately and even their die hard fans regard half of their last album as poor. A bit of time off will probably do them good.

Gutted. Am gonna miss Ms Matronic the most. One of the most talented and relevant bands of recent times. The 'Non lip synching' and real live singing was amazing at Leeds O2 Academy on 16th. Although I like their most recent record least I still love their music and always will. Their best record by far though with the exception of Fire with fire was 'Night Work.' Loving the cynicism of some of the people on here! Cant wait for Del's new solo material. Hope he releases it on CD this time though. They will be sorely missed by me.
