The X Factor was named the 'Best British TV Show', with judge Tulisa Contostavlos accepting the award.
Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe won 'Best British Actor', with co-star Emma Watson winning 'Female Hottie of the Year'.
The awards also honoured three 'Teen Heroes' who were nominated by BBC Radio 1 listeners and chosen by a panel of celebrities, which included Professor Green, Louis Smith, Jessie Ware, Radio 1 DJs, journalists and youth organisation experts.
Jenna, 17, from Scotland was awarded for setting up a retreat for young cancer sufferers with her twin brother, who later passed away from a brain tumour. Chelsea, 14, was honoured for her volunteer work in Bradford, while 13-year-old George, from York, was recognised for helping raise money for hospitals after being diagnosed with cancer at the age of 9.
Ben Cooper, controller BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 1Xtra, said: "Radio 1's Teen Awards are all about celebrating the positive contribution that teenagers make to this country. This year's winners Jenna, Chelsea and George have done just that - helping their communities and providing inspiration for all of us."

Do we remember the 'Smash Hits Poll Winners' Party'? There were categories such as 'Best Haircut' and Take That won pretty much everything, it's nothing new, just a 21st Century version of that!

I used to LOVE that! The difference for me is that the bands we were voting for to win "Best Haircut" and "Sexiest Male" were also talented enough to win awards based on their musical ability. I'm thinking a little bit further back than Take That with the likes of Duran Duran and A-Ha - they were all musicians first and foremost - the fact that they were good looking would of course have helped them to get established but they also had a bit of credibility around the brilliant pop songs they produced.

Might as well call it the Teen Girl Awards. The boys have none of our favourites to win. Or maybe I'm too old!

I don't begrudge them much but it really annoyed me when watching the Teen Awards that the BBC weren't allowed to show them performing Live While We're Young. Considering they've had so much exposure on Radio 1 (being on the breakfast show so often and having their own takeover day), it would be more than reasonable for Syco to allow the BBC to show their first live performance of the song, but instead the cameras just focused on the crowds and One Direction will inevitably appear on an ITV show in the next few weeks performing the song. So petty!

Yeah, unfortunately seems to be a trait of Syco.

Are there no other categories in this thing or was it just engineered to let One Direction win everything?

Yeah because there is a major conspiracy going on within the music industry not just here in Britain but all over the world that One Direction MUST win virtually everything they are nominated for?! Gesh........
