Global Gathering: 24-year-old man dies at festival

A 24-year-old man died at this weekend's Global Gathering, it has been confirmed.

The festival-goer, who has not been named, was pronounced dead at 4.40pm (BST) on Saturday (July 28) after he was found unconscious in his tent at the Warwickshire event.

Paramedics were called to the scene but the man could not be resuscitated, according to BBC News.

The death is the first in Global Gathering's 12-year history. A post-mortem on the man will take place today.

Police are describing the death as "unexplained" and are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Organisers of the festival issued a statement, saying: "Everybody at Global Gathering is deeply saddened by this tragic loss of life.

"Our thoughts and condolences are with the family and friends at this time. We are assisting Warwickshire Police with their ongoing investigation."

Tinie Tempah, Chase and Status, Friendly Fires, Nero, Skrillex, Maverick Sabre, DJ Fresh and Labrinth were among those who performed at this weekend's festival.
