Maxwell, who made a similar comeback in 2009, has told The AP that it is encouraging to see D'Angelo back in the spotlight.
"I'm a fan. I couldn't not respect what he does," Maxwell explained.
He went on to say: "We're one year apart in age and we came up around the same time. It's great, great, great news to [see this comeback]. It really is."
Maxwell's own comeback was temporarily derailed in June when vocal cord problems forced him to cancel a US tour.

Everybody knows that Maxwell canceled his tour for lack of tickets sales and nothing else! How can you blow out your vocal chords when you haven't been doing anything but sitting around. It funny how the industry thinks they are fooling fans. As for D'Angelo I watched him at BET awards and Eseence Music festival and was not impressed. I dont think this comeback is going to happen at all.
