T in the Park 2012: Olly Murs, Example take to the stage - pictures

T in the Park celebrated its 18th birthday with performances from acts including Olly Murs, Example and New Order on a damp first day in Balado, Scotland.

Recently-reformed acts such as The Stone Roses and Happy Mondays will also perform over the weekend, with Jessie J, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, Elbow, Nicki Minaj and The Wanted also tipped to appear at the annual festival.
