Katy Perry has said that she finds it "hilarious" when reality TV shows hire outdated judges.
The 'Part of Me' star, who served as a guest judge on The X Factor in 2010, insisted that singing competitions should have "current" mentors who can offer relevant advice.
Perry told The Hollywood Reporter: "People have reached out to me about the possibility of being involved and I think that it's not right for me right now. I have ideas for two or three big, creative things and I want to be able to fulfil those ideas. And it's a real commitment to be on one of those shows.
"I'm not opposed to it. I think some of those shows are better than others. I like to give constructive criticism that hopefully people can apply and find valuable."
Perry continued: "I do find it completely hilarious when they hire people that are not current in music and haven't been for a decade or over. Or when they're not even in music.
"How are you going to give a perspective when you haven't even lived it?"
