will.i.am wins first solo No.1 with 'This is Love'

will.i.am has scored his first UK solo number one single with 'This Is Love'.His collaboration with Eve Simons sold over 102,000 copies, continuing the 100,000 sales barrier achieved for number ones over the past month.

The Voice UK coach said: "I've had number ones before with the Black Eyed Peas, but to me this one means so much, because I know people thought I can only be successful in the Black Eyed Peas, they were wrong."
He knocks last week's number one 'Payphone' by Maroon 5 to number two, while Chris Brown lands at three with 'Don't Wake Me Up'.
Flo Rida's 'Whistle' drops one place to four, with Cheryl Cole falling three to five with 'Call My Name'.
Rudimental's 'Feel the Love' is a non-mover at six, while Coldplay and Rihanna's duet 'Princess of China' falls two to seven.
Stooshe drop four places to eight with 'Black Heart', with fun. falling two with big-seller 'We Are Young' at nine.
Katy Perry's 'Wide Awake' enters the Top 10 for the first time at ten.

Taio Cruz's latest single 'There She Goes' with Pitbull enters at 12, while Labrinth climbs up four to 13 with 'Express Yourself'.
Muse's official Olympics track 'Survival' lands at 25 after only a few days of release.
Jay-Z and Kanye West re-enter the top 40 with 'Paris' at 18, after their performance at BBC Radio 1's Hackney Weekend.

Think it is about time schools started to teach music from year 1 that way kids of today wont be tone deaf.

This is not usually my style of music at all but I love everything Will releases - Black Eyed Peas or "solo"/other collaborations.
He may not have the world's greatest singing voice but he doesn't claim to - for me it's all about the production and the writing. He's also a dope guy!

This is the first single ive actually bought legally - it was well worth it to give him the no 1 single he rightly deserves - he makes class music and this song is brilliant - but after watching the video I feel like I am singing it in slow motion. Funky terminator.

he's not the greatest of singers, but daaaaaym he makes some great tracks!!!! So glad this is #1 it's an awesome bit of tunaaaaaaaaaage and Eva Simons is immense!! :)
