"I think Ireland is going to win next year with somebody else," Edward is quoted by The Mirror as saying. "I think Bono should go. Or Robbie Williams."
John added: "I think we'll leave it to somebody else to do it next year. We'll leave it to a new artist out there who is undiscovered. Ireland do have a chance of winning - we've won seven times before."
However, the siblings did concede that they may consider entering again if asked by their country's president.
"We never know what will happen," Edward said. "If the President rings us up and says, 'John and Edward, we need you. Seriously we need you guys'. Then we'll think about it."
Sweden won the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 with 'Euphoria', which was performed by Loreen and has since gone on to top iTunes charts across Europe.

hey, anyone can represent anyone these days. The German entry was written by Jamie Cullum, the Norwegian entry was written by swedes and performed by a guy from the middle east, so yes Robbie Williams could represent Ireland if he was chosen too. eurovision rules have changed a lot in the last few years.

People have always been able to represent for other countries - off the top of my head France Gall was French and represented Luxembourg with a song written by a Frenchman (one of the best Eurovison songs ever imo); Céline Dion, a Canadian, won for Switzerland.
(In the middle of a languages degree; sorry for only being able to provide Francophone examples.)

I want the President to ring them up and say 'you know these Troubles we've been having last few centuries? Fancy sorting them?'.

"Or Robbie Williams" - LOL. Kinda missing the point of representing your own country?
