1,227 people took part in the event, 199 more than the October 28 gathering of the living dead at Monroeville Mall in Pittsburgh, USA.
Zombies gathered at Nottingham's annual games festival GameCity this afternoon, with the dance kicking off at 5pm. Costumes, makeup and training were provided at the Old Market Square.
Director Iain Simons told the BBC: "As any self-respecting zombie knows, it's very important that they come together and dance the Michael Jackson 'Thriller' dance because that's what zombies do when they congregate."
The iconic dance was voted the fourth greatest music video of all time in an MTV poll last month.
