Speaking at the TCA Winter Press Tour, Sutherland revealed that the film will pick up six months after the Fox drama's final episode.
"The status on the movie is that, hopefully, we will be shooting the end of April, beginning of May," he confirmed. "The script that we've got right now... I'm very, very excited about."
The actor added: "I see it as... relatively a direct continuation. It's within six months from the end of the last episode. We'll see where it goes from there."
When asked which 24 cast members might reprise their roles, Sutherland replied: "I can't say that."
24's executive producer Howard Gordon confirmed to Digital Spy in November 2010 that Mary Lynn Rajskub will appear in the proposed film as Chloe O'Brian.
Die Hard 4 screenwriter Mark Bomback was reported to be working on a new script draft for the project in December.

Dragging it on too long. Just make it ffs! Problem is they letting the stars and producers 'tease' the upcoming film that much, that it will just be too difficult to live up to the hype.
