However, Portman entered a multi-picture deal with Marvel Studios when she signed up for the original Thor, and the company is said to have coerced her to honour the agreement.
The news follows reports that Captain America: The First Avenger actor Hugo Weaving has no desire to revisit his role as the Red Skull in future sequels, predicting Marvel will not force him to do so against his wishes.
Portman, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgard, Idris Elba, Kat Dennings, Jaimie Alexander, Rene Russo and Anthony Hopkins will reprise their roles in Thor 2 alongside newcomers Christopher Eccleston and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje.
The Alan Taylor-helmed Thor: The Dark World will be released on November 8, 2013.

I have not seen Thor but I always wondered why she did "Your Highness" and why she used such a poor British accent in it.
That was such a teenage boy bathroom humour piece of garbage that I am surprised she agreed to be in it and surprised she never tried to have her name changed in the credits and claim it was a look alike hired to play the part.

Well no one forced her to sign a multi million dollar contract in the first place. If she really wants out of her contract she should buy herself out of it. It's not like she short of a few dollars, She can also up her price for her next film to make back the money she used to buy herself out of her multi million dollar contract.

"Coerced" into honouring a contract she signed? What did they do to the poor lamb? Point out that you have to honour contracts?

Actually legally that is disputable, you can terminate contracts and codify them. Plus there is no need to direct sarcasm at Portman, she hasn't come out and slagged them off in public for it, the article is doing that on its own.

I think it's just gossip to attract more attention to the project. If Natalie didn't want to do it then they would just find another actress. However if she signed a two or three picture deal with the Thor movies then she can be forced back or end up in court
