Game of Thrones star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau has revealed that Mark Wahlberg could take a role in the US remake of his foreign-language thriller Headhunters. The Danish actor told Digital Spy that he heard "rumours" of Wahlberg's interest in the film, which is based on Jo Nesbo's novel about a deadly cat-and-mouse game sparked by an art heist.

Coster-Waldau, who stars as mysterious collector Clas Greve in the Norwegian original, also said that he saw the Headhunters remake as a "huge opportunity" to bring the story to a wider audience.
"It's always tricky because the movie has had a release in the States and it did okay, but it was out in 20 screens in all of America," he explained. "No-one's seen it basically, so for the writer, for everyone involved, it's a huge opportunity to reach that audience. I think it's good for them and it will be very interesting to see it."

"There were friends in England who went and saw it and didn't even know I was in it, they'd heard good things about it. And I think something about that dark sense of humour is in many ways very British... it's a very brutal film, but it's also I think very funny because it takes the whole thing to the extreme."
Headhunters is released on DVD and Blu-ray on August 13.
