'Spider-Man' original director Sam Raimi: 'I respect Marc Webb'

Spider-Man director Sam Raimi has offered his thoughts on Marc Webb's movie reboot.The filmmaker admitted that he is yet to see The Amazing Spider-Man, but praised his successor on the series and said that he believes the film will be "great".

He told MTV: "I have not seen it yet but I hear it's great. It's not weird at all. I've spoken to him a number of times. I've run into him.
"We've commiserated together. I like him very much. I respect him as a filmmaker and I think the movie is going to be great."
Willem Dafoe, who starred as Norman Osborn/the Green Goblin in Raimi's Spider-Man, previously said that he was "shocked" to learn that Webb had chosen to cover similar ground in his reboot.
The Amazing Spider-Man, starring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, was released in cinemas earlier this month.
