However, the actor disclosed that he will not be reprising his role as beach lifeguard Mitch Buchannon in the film, which is currently being penned by Rescue Me co-creator Peter Tolan for Paramount.
"I've just met the guy writing the film. I'm going to play myself," the Daily Express quotes Hasselhoff as saying.
"We're trying to make it a very cool, updated version."
Justin Timberlake was recently linked to the project, which reportedly centres around a disgraced former Olympic swimmer who joins the Baywatch lifeguard crew.
The project will be produced by Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman, Beau Flynn and Tripp Vinson.
Watch the intro to the Baywatch TV show below:

Baywatch was a bit of fun back in the early to mid 90's. You had classic ITV Saturday nights - Baywatch, Catchphrase and Stars In Their Eyes! You can just bring back Baywatch as a film and expect people to watch it because they won't. You think of the cheesy 90's TV series. I doubt it will even get a wide release, if any, at cinema's and will go straight to DVD.

I used to watch it , this is just another mistake. Instead of rebooting it just continue it from the show.
It has action, it has females running, it has females running and very poor acting. Otherwise I'll still watch it for Females running around in skippy two piece swim wear.
